The Veolia ES Cleanaway Mardyke Trust will now consider projects across the whole of Thurrock, although it still gives priority to those communities nearer the Veolia landfill site in South Ockendon. Projects can include improvements to public parks and to other public amenities, as well as repairs and restoration of churches, other religious buildings, and historic buildings. The Trust’s grant giving this year is over £500,000; the contact is Andy Furze, andyfurze@aol.com
