Compact Monitoring Group

Welcome to the web page of the Compact Monitoring Group (CMG) . Reporting to the Community Involvement Board the CMG is responsible for leading on Thurrock’s Compact.

What is the Compact? The Compact is basically an agreement between public sector service providers and voluntary/community service providers. It presents a way of working, of mutual respect and good practice. The compact is all about ensuring relationships are strong so everyone can maximise the services they provide.   Click on the picture on the right hand side to view a copy.

What is our aim?

The overall aim of the CMG is ensuring that the Compact is successful in its implementation, i.e. “to improve relationships, decision making, services and outcomes between the public and voluntary, community and faith sectors for the benefit of all communities in Thurrock.”

What are we doing to achieve our aims?

  • We are improving partnership working and support for the Local Strategic Partnership to achieve its vision
  • We will implement the actions in the Compact Action Plan
  • We will agree, document and embed the values, principles and codes of practice necessary for a successful partnership
  • We will communicate the Compact, its purpose and share in its achievements
  • We will address local issues and concerns relevant to the Compact
  • We will form a process for mediation and dispute resolution
  • We will encourage organisations, year-on-year, to use the Compact better
