The Nursing & Midwifery Council recently published new Guidelines for the Care of Older People.  They undertook consultations in Birmingham, Glasgow and London and were invited to come to Thurrock to work with a focus group in October 2008.

The new guidelines contains references to the Thurrock Focus Group and can be viewed  by clicking on the link below

Results of peer research

In Summer 2008 Thurrock Community Empowerment Network (TCEN) and Thurrock African Group (TAG)jointly undertook a peer to peer research project with the African community in Thurrock. The research focused on the community’s perception of the local area, crime and safety, transport, health and community involvement, and related issues.
